I bought the scalp care essential set bundle for my 17 y/o daughter who has struggled with an itchy, flaky irritated scalp. She said the shampoo makes her scalp feel a lot better after washing than in the past and it is less itchy, but she's still not 100% there yet - maybe with a continued use? She also said the scalp botanical serum is very thick and some times it doesn't feel like it rubs in and instead sits on the scalp making her scalp feel oily - but not all the time. The condititoner and leave-in feel great. She still is frustrated that its a lot of work to maintain her hair and wishes you made styling products as well...?? Maybe you want her to do some product testing/review? So far its going good and going to see what continued use reveals.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review and for trusting Mylani with your daughter’s scalp care journey. I truly appreciate the feedback and I’m so glad to hear that she’s already noticing less itchiness and more comfort after cleansing — that’s definitely a positive sign.
One thing that’s very important to understand with scalp-focused products is that improvement is usually a process, not an overnight transformation. Consistent use is key, especially when the scalp has been struggling for a while. While these products are designed to help soothe and support the scalp environment, they are not intended to “cure” medical scalp conditions, but rather help minimize and manage symptoms such as dryness, irritation, flaking, and discomfort over time.
As for the Scalp Botanical Serum, you are absolutely correct — it is a much thicker, more concentrated serum compared to lightweight oils or sprays. Because of that, there can definitely be a little trial and error in learning how much product works best for her scalp and application style. A little usually goes a long way, and applying in smaller amounts directly to the scalp sections tends to work best so it can absorb properly without feeling too heavy.
I also completely understand her frustration with styling and maintenance. Textured hair care can absolutely feel overwhelming at times, especially as a teen trying to figure out what works best for her hair and scalp. I do offer styling products that pair beautifully with the scalp care line, and you’re more than welcome to explore those on the website to help make her routine easier and more enjoyable.
Thank you again for supporting my small business and giving Mylani products a try. I’m truly grateful and excited to hear how her continued journey goes over time.
Exceptional product!
Before using Mylani hair care I suffered severe dry scalp and continuous dandruff. While using Mylani products for just a few weeks I noticed my scalp began ti heal and become dandruff free. I ran out of the all natural goodness and begin to use store-bought products. I quickly seen the difference in those products and Mylani as my scalp turned flaky and sore. I’ve used the botanical oil, tame leave in conditioner, quench conditioner and nourish shampoo. I recently ordered the Renee growth oil as well. If you haven’t tried it, you definitely should!!!!!!!!!!
